Laser Therapy

laser therapy - old hall vets

We are pleased to announce that we have now added laser therapy to our range of available treatments.

Emily is a trained laser therapist as well as a qualified veterinary nurse, who hosts a monthly laser session here at Old Hall Vets.  She explains:

Laser therapy uses red/near infra-red light that targets the tissues and stimulates the cells.  This accelerates healing and encourages tissue repair, reduces inflammation and provides pain relief. (All of which Helen can confirm, having benefitted from Emily’s laser treatment personally!)

Over 80 conditions can benefit from laser therapy including

  • arthritis
  • sprains and strains
  • back and muscle pain
  • open wounds
  • post-surgical wounds
  • gingivitis (gum inflammation)
  • haematomas
  • interdigital cysts
  • abscesses
  • and many more……

Most conditions require 4 to 6 sessions, each lasting 3 to 7 minutes per area.  The frequency of these depends on the condition, severity and response to treatment, but may start at daily or several times a week.  Laser therapy is generally very well tolerated – some pets even fall asleep during their session, clearly appreciating the warm sensation that the laser creates!

The BIG advantage is that laser therapy has no contra-indications and can be used safely alongside other treatments, with no side effects!

Please contact Emily directly on 07460027083 or on her Facebook page for further enquiries and bookings.

Alternatively please speak to one of our vets if you feel that your pet may benefit from treatment, or you simply wish to know more.
